COVID-19 Procedures

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in line with Government and DVSA guidelines on social distancing, we have amended our testing, waiting and viewing processes. The image to the left shows the guidelines we have implemented on site.

In addition to the procedures outlined, please also be advised:

APPOINTMENT ONLY: Under no circumstances are we able to offer any "walk-in" appointments. Please ensure you make a booking in advance.

If you have not made an appointment, you will be turned away!

ARRIVE ON TIME: Please arrive between 5 and 10 minutes before your appointment time. Please do no arrive earlier as we do not have a waiting area. If you arrive late, we may not be able to test your vehicle.

If you arrive late/ miss your appointment, you may be charged!

FINALLY: If you are unwell, please contact us to cancel your appointment. DO NOT ATTEND THE STATION if you, or those you live with, are showing signs of Coronavirus OR if you are self-isolating, shielding or have been advised to stay at home!

Your Test & Us

At Birdwell MOT Centre we pride ourselves on being a busy MOT (only) test station. Open 6 days per week, we charge a fixed £35 fee for all tests, whether you are after a small hatchback car test or a 3.5T (class VII) van MOT. The details on the right show how, and why we are popular. Why not give us a try next time you need your MOT test Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham?

As is to be expected, we test your vehicle to the DVSA guidelines indiciated in the relevant "MOT Inspection Manual". Your test will ensure your vehicle meets the legal standards and that it is roadworthy and road-legal.

The test does not check the general mechanical condition of the vehicle incuding, but not limited to, the engine, clutch, gearbox or any electrical components or on-board computers. If you need these checking, or need a service, you will need to contact a suitably qualified mechanic.

That's correct! We don't carry out repairs, or servicing! We only test vehicles! That way, we have no bias in whether we pass or fail!
